As I get older, I have more and more pet peeves.  😉

Selfishness.

Scraping your teeth across silverware.

Chewing with your mouth open.

People who are rude to people in the service industry.

Loud eaters.

And this one cracks me up!  It doesn't bother me but it drives Jim crazy.....

Blog Challenge - Day 6

SIGHT:   I'm watching "Chrisley Knows Best" on my bedroom TV.

Behind the scenes:  Jim must have the latest electronics (iPhones, gadgets, etc.) and it is KILLING him that I don't want a bigger TV for the bedroom. 

SOUND:  Listening to Big Booty Judy snoring in her bed as she keeps me company.

Behind the scenes:  As I was typing this, Bailey LITERALLY fell out of her bed.  Her bohiney got too close to the edge and this is what I'm seeing right now.  

Sad update:  I wrote this blog post about three days before we had to say good-bye to Bailey.

TASTE:  Jim & I had a late lunch so my healthy supper is Poppycock and Andes Mint Chocolates.

Behind the scenes:  I ate that entire bag of Poppycock.  #sorrynotsorry

TOUCH:  The warmth of our flannel sheets (yes, I'm in bed!) alternating with the FREEZING winds each time Bailey needs to go outside to do her business.

Behind the scenes:  Those snacks 👆 are on Jim's side of the bed and, instead of putting them in the pantry when I'm finished, I'm seriously considering putting them in my bedside table drawer.  Why waste the energy going all the way downstairs??

SMELL:  Stacy - our sweet cleaning lady - came today so it smells bleach-y clean.

Behind the scenes:  I love the smell of Chlorox bleach.  Maybe it's old-school but I don't think the green, safe-for-the-environment cleaners work as well.

Blog challenge - Day 4

What am I afraid of?

Water that I can't see through.

This is a big one for me.  There is no way you're going to see my bootie swimming in a lake.  Nope!  The funny thing is that I love to paddle board on lakes.  This fear has kept me from ever falling! 😆



Being scared.

I hate scary movies.....especially the ones where someone/something jumps out at you.  Holy crap!  I go from 0 to 100 on the pissed-off scale in record time.

How ironic is it that it CRACKS ME UP to see someone else scared?!
I know......my mind is twisted.

My favorite quote.....this is a hard one.

The first thing that pops into my mind is a one-liner my mother used to throw out.  Like this one....

You don't have the sense God gave an onion.

Typing that even makes me laugh!  😎

There are a ton of quotes that I come across that speak to me.  The one I find myself going back to time and time again is this one.....

It's a constant reminder to put everything in God's hands.

His timing - not ours - is perfect.

Be present.......this moment only comes around once.

Blog challenge - Day 2

OK, twenty random facts about me.....

1.  I love to travel.  Anywhere, everywhere.....sign me up!

2.  I can't sleep unless my face is pointed toward the "closed" side of the pillow.

3.  Cleaning/organizing relaxes me.  

4.  I'm a big reader......but only one book at a time.  I've never understood how people can be reading several books at a time.  My brain doesn't work that way.  

5.  I could eat cupcakes (or snow cones!) every single day.  

6.  My favorite pet was a Basset Hound named Bailey.  She was ADORABLE but dumb as a rock.

7.  I met my handsome husband at a BlackJack table.

8.    I love going to the movie theater.  I wish Minnesota theaters sold dill pickles like they do in Texas. 

9.  I'm a twin.

10.  If I had a few hours to kill, you could find me either in a bookstore or an office supplies store.  

11.  I cannot balance a checkbook.

12.  I think gray hair is sexy but only on men.

13.  I prefer caramel over chocolate.

14.  I love everything about winter in Minnesota.  Snow, ice, freezing temps....bring it on!

15.  My favorite color is red.

16.  Cooking relaxes me.

17.  It makes me uncomfortable to NOT have my toe nails painted.  

18.  I use lip gloss (specifically Burts Bees) no less than 13,769 times per day.  I hate dry lips.

19.  My #1 rule as a mother is that my kids can say anything they want (except curse words) as long as it's said respectfully.  I use enough curse words for all of us combined.

20.  I won the lottery the day God decided I could be Garrett and Delanie's mama.

I started this blog when my family moved 1000 miles away from home in 2011.  It's an electronic scrapbook meant to keep our friends and family up to date on our Minnesota adventure.
